Cops standing down
Trump didn’t get any credit for criminal justice reform (which not a single Democrat in either the House or the Senate voted against) and he won’t get credit for this one either. It’s still the right thing to do.
If cops cherry pick which laws to enforce and which laws to ignore, they’re no longer accountable to the public, only to themselves. You’re then engaging in vigilante justice. Pick your super hero, I’m going with Rorschach.
Justice is a collective enterprise and a reflection of society. If you feel cops are over-policing, the correct solution to that is to deregulate, something many of you who complain the loudest not only find to be a bad word, but are unwilling to do.
The bottom line is, as cops are accountable to the public, whatever perceived immoral acts law enforcement engages in reflects your own collective immorality.
Deregulate.
Of course not. The Wuhan virus quarantine is effectively over. Do whatever you want to do. If they catch you at a non-essential gathering, just tell them you were protesting racism.
