Replaced the idiotic GU24 sockets with E26 sockets, as Thomas Edison intended. Arc fault (fire) damage and discoloration is visible on the bottom GU24 socket and corresponding white wire. Use these at your own risk.
GU24 light sockets, created in 2004 and mandated to be used in California (because feelings) in 2008, are a mess. They can’t handle vibrations (for example, from a ceiling fan); the springs end up failing, causing arcing and posing a fire hazard.
That’s saying nothing about how expensive the bulbs are.
The E26 light sockets, in use since around 1908, are superior in every way.
