Update: Also, my thoughts: “I know she had her opinions about staff at the hospital and wanted them to do “more” (whatever that means given the circumstance), but what I took from her account was that she showed that the system, i.e. government, medicaid, etc., under-supplied and under-funded the public hospital, putting doctors in a position of having to make lose/lose decisions, often deferring to “higher ups”. Though I’m sure others who watch it will form different conclusions. As I said before, I don’t blame the doctors in those situations.”
Now that the original outrage has passed, I hope everyone is ready for the possibility that Chauvin will be found not guilty. The burden of proof is on the prosecution, and the standard of proof for conviction is guilty “beyond a reasonable doubt”. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he walks, nor would it surprise me when more riots follow.
